Meeting with departmental staff regarding effective implementation of child protection system

Dr. Varnika Sharma, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission, made a one-day visit to Bijapur district to provide information regarding child rights and to attend a departmental meeting regarding the work being done in the field of child protection system. During this, a meeting was held with the departmental staff of Child Protection System Unit, Special Juvenile Police Unit, Labor Department, Education Department regarding the effective implementation of the child protection system and the best interests of the children were discussed.

 

During this, instructions were given to run a campaign for the prevention of child labor in the district and to show readiness on it. The campaign is to be run every month so that Chhattisgarh can be taken towards child labor free. In the campaign, the Labor Department, Women and Child Development Department, Police Department should work jointly by forming a team so that child labor can be prevented. To prevent child labor, the Labor Department was suggested to implement a single window system in the Collectorate, so that efforts can be made to connect the families of child laborers with immediate employment.

 

Dr. Varnika Sharma informed that the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh State has resolved to make Chhattisgarh State a child marriage free state. For this, we all have to make coordinated efforts together. Special attention has to be given to the district and by organizing more and more awareness training capacity enhancement programs, adolescents should be made aware through schools, pota cabins, ashrams so that a situation like child marriage does not happen anywhere. All of you have to do special monitoring and supervision so that the facilities provided for children in school ashram hostels are of high standard. Inspected the child care institution Balika Griha operating in the district. Expressed happiness over the welcome given by the children and their charming presentation, informed the children about the importance of studies and advised them to study well. Information was also taken about the facilities of the children’s home. In Tendu Hall, by participating in the social seminar for effective implementation of child protection system and making the district child marriage free, women were made aware of the child protection system. Also, everyone was sworn in to make the district child marriage free and under the signature campaign, signatures were taken that in any situation, they will be alert towards child marriage and abuse of children. During this, Sub-Divisional Officer Jageshwar Kaushal, District Program Officer Mrs. Preeti Khokhar Chakiyar, Women and Child Development Officer Kanta Masram, Child Protection Officer Ganeshwar Jhadi, Naveen Mishra, Anandmai, Mrs. Shila Bhardwaj, Mrs. Suchi Shukla and all departmental employees were present.
