The 79th Independence Day marked a historic event in the remote and Naxal-affected areas of Bijapur district. For the first time in 79 years, the Tricolor was hoisted with pride, and the air resonated with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” This remarkable change was made possible by the establishment of 12 new security camps over the past year. In these camps, villagers, schoolchildren, and security personnel came together to celebrate the nation’s freedom.
A New Dawn in Naxal Strongholds
In extremely sensitive areas like Kondapalli, Watewagu, Jidpalli, Kaurgatta, Korcholi, and Pujarikanker, where fear once reigned, children and villagers now participated fearlessly in the flag-hoisting ceremony and march. Their faces were filled with patriotic fervor and the joy of freedom. The entire area echoed with patriotic songs and slogans, replacing the sounds of conflict with the sounds of unity.
Development and Trust: The Real Victory
Since August 15, 2024, the 12 new security camps have brought more than just security; they have ushered in a new era of development.
Basic amenities like roads, electricity, water, and healthcare are now reaching these areas. This has significantly improved the villagers’ quality of life and helped them connect with the mainstream.
After the flag-hoisting, security personnel distributed sweets and shared a community meal with the villagers and children.
This simple gesture helped build a bond of trust and mutual respect. The transformation in Bijapur proves that the power of development and trust is far greater than the force of violence. This is not just a news report; it’s a new picture of Bijapur’s future.
